Cartel... Japan part 2

Like I said... "Clean."

Sorry for my lack of reader rides... I've been slammed with tons of other thangs like web edits and photo editing but I'll try to be more diligent about it in 2010 as we'll have a section dedicated to your pics.

Until then, here's Tetsuwa's clean 06 Mob out of Chiba, Japan.

dedicated.

Erik Tipton has been an SHL since the beginning... 45 & stylish...

Today as we were riding across the Hamilton Ave. bridge on our way to Sheep Hills, Chad asked "How long has Sheep been here?" Hmmm.... A long damn time... I have been riding Sheep Hills on and off since 91'... the longest off time being the 4 years Taylor and I built at Hidden.

Sheep Hills has been one of the main staples in So. Cal. BMX trail riding since I'm guessing the early 80's and still continues to provide an amazing backdrop for photos and a great place to ride with friends. I've had literally countless EPIC days "ridin' Sheep" until dark and had the opportunity to ride with most of the SHL's past & present... today was the first time I've ever shot photos there myself and was stoked at the results. Hope you dig...

Random Boost

Nick Brandreth sent this photo to me a few weeks ago and I keep meaning to post it and keep slacking... so here it is. Adam blasts the hell out of a small quarter during a recent Hackettstown session. Which of these is not like the other???

VVC FORCE 09 Full Length Video

Vishneviy and the crew from VVC in Moscow, Russia have put together a sick new video to keep them warm and fuzzy during the long winter months. Vishneviy puts his Contraband thru it's paces. Enjoy the madness...

So. Cal. Christmas Riding Mash-Up

So. Cal. Christmas Riding Mash Up 2009 from carter holland on Vimeo.

It's a So. Cal. Christmas... celebrated with friends riding trails and park. Sheep Hills is on another come back from the dead thanks to a new group of locals and a resurgence of original S.H.L.'s. Sheep has always been the one place where the vibe is pretty loose even if it's your first time there... just patch your divot. P.S. opening clip is from x-mas 08 at Gavilan.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Best wishes from Carter, Mondo & Zeus... your Black Market Family...

Bada Booms spotted...

Aaron throwin' down at the Aptos Step-up..

I was just checking out Decline and saw a nice press release announcing Aaron Chase is now on X-Fusion now too.

Nice to see X-Fusion making it out of the shadows of the big guys. BlkMrkt has been on X-Fusion since they opened their doors... One notable from the AC PR is Aaron's choice of bars... check it...

I'm pretty stoked right now... I picked up a Flip HD camera the other day after buying a total failure of a camera for my trip to Austin last month. This thing is badass and I'm lovin' it. I took Zeus out to Irvine Oaks for a little trail ride yesterday... Here's the result. It's my first attempt at a web edit... hope you dig it...

While out there I met a young rider named Kyle Rohling... he was flowing every line with pop , style & tricks. After about an hour Kyle asked to try the Contraband... here's his reaction... in action...

Stay tuned for Contraband web edit coming soon.

Lock on users rejoice!!!

Coming soon in 2010... the "Lock-Down" lock on grip.

Over the years I've used lock-on grips on my DH bikes and anytime I thought rain and mud might play a part but... I've always bitched and heard others bitch about issues with the common lock-on... you know the ones... the sloppy feel, the screws jabbing into your palms and thumbs & that plastic endcap that always breaks leaving a knife edge that gets you arrested at the airport.

Well, we felt it was time to address some of these issues that had just become status quo. I like the idea behind Sunline grip but not how it was carried out. The flange was hard and the grip area is narrow and a bit thick for my tastes. After looking into what others had done... this is what we came up with... we hope you like it.

The Lock-Down features a slop ending clamp system, integrated flange to protect your thumbs from bolts, larger 3mm clamp bolts to prevent stripping, combined with our tacky durable pattern & CNC'd 6061 t6 aluminum endcap / locking device with laser etched logo. Colors: Black with black, white with blue, purple with purple with more to be added.

Mr. Dmitrevich clears a big gap with a 180 whip.

Vishneviy and his Contraband.

As you may know we've started helping out Russian tech master Pavel Dmitrevich A.K.A. Vishneviy and until now he's been riding a brakeless Mob with 24's. Not any more...

Vishneviy is the first rider to officially ride the production Contrband and here's a look at his ride & a taste of what he's capable aboard our new 24" specific park machine by winning a park & a mini-ramp contest. The banger at the end is ridiculous!!!

Here's the list of materials Vishneviy requires to do his thing...

Frame: BlkMrkt Contraband 22"
Fork: X-Fusion Velvet R 60mm
Bar & Stem: Underboss 25.4mm and 2" Bada Boom's with Adam Hauck grips
Wheels: Yellow ones with KHE Geisha coaster hub
Tires: Mis-matched
Pedals: Wellgo MG1
Cranks: Mcneal System ti spindle
Seat: Primo pivotal
Shadow II chain
